Position Overview
An investment management firm is seeking a Senior Associate to support firmwide reporting, business intelligence, and data analysis. This role works across Finance, Operations, Investor Relations, and other business functions to build reliable reports, dashboards, and analytical tools using PostgreSQL, Excel, BI platforms, and AI-enabled workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Create recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, charts, and analyses for business stakeholders.
- Translate business questions into accurate data queries, calculations, metrics, and visualizations.
- Write and maintain complex SQL queries within a PostgreSQL environment.
- Build and enhance Excel-based reports, models, reconciliations, and presentation materials.
- Develop BI dashboards and self-service reporting tools.
- Define reporting requirements, business logic, calculations, and data specifications for enterprise applications.
- Partner with technical and business teams to improve reporting consistency, data quality, controls, and documentation.
- Apply AI tools to support data exploration, reporting, requirements development, and analytical workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in business intelligence, financial reporting, data analytics, or a related role.
- Financial services industry experience.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex multi-table queries and relational data structures.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, large datasets, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations using BI tools.
- Experience working with structured databases and translating business needs into reporting logic or functional requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in a lean environment with broad ownership and evolving priorities.
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fund finance, private credit, asset-based finance, or a related investment environment.
- Familiarity with AI tools used for analytical and workflow support.
- Python proficiency.
