Head of Hedge Fund Operations

About the Firm

Our client is a leading global institutional alternative asset manager with an established international presence, managing tens of billions of dollars across multi-strategy, credit, real estate, and other alternative investment vehicles.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced operations leader to run the day-to-day management and ongoing evolution of the firm's hedge fund operations platform, spanning trade operations, treasury, transaction processing, and asset servicing. Reporting to a senior operations executive, this person will lead a global team of in-house and offshore professionals through a group of functional leads, driving clear ownership, strong controls, and greater operating leverage across the group.

The ideal candidate combines deep markets operations experience with strategic judgment and a solution-oriented mindset — someone who understands the business well enough to challenge assumptions and resolve complex issues, while leading through others rather than staying embedded in day-to-day execution.

What You'll Do

• Lead and set direction for the operations function, maintaining senior oversight of trade processing, treasury, reconciliations, confirmations, and asset servicing controls
• Manage a team of functional leads, ensuring clear accountability and effective delegation across the group
• Own resolution of significant operational issues, escalating material matters with sound judgment
• Support new fund launches, strategies, and counterparty relationships by translating business needs into operational and technology requirements
• Partner with trading, finance, treasury, legal, compliance, and technology teams, and serve as a senior point of contact for prime brokers, custodians, and administrators
• Drive automation, process improvement, and smarter use of technology and offshore resources to improve scalability and efficiency
