About the Opportunity
Our client, a major global merchant banking and investment platform, is seeking a senior leader for Investor Reporting & Analytics within their Finance team. This high-visibility role will serve as the primary point of contact for performance reporting and analytics across funds and investment positions, supporting investor, leadership, fundraising, and internal stakeholder requests. The position offers autonomy and direct impact on the firm’s decision-making and process enhancements, driving scalable and technology-enabled solutions in a dynamic, post-merger environment. The role is highly collaborative, partnering closely across Finance, Investor Relations, Fundraising, Valuation, Fund Accounting, and Portfolio Data, with the latitude to lead and direct offshore analytics resources.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to performance-related requests from existing and prospective investors, senior leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders, coordinating closely with Fundraising and Investor Relations
- Assess incoming performance requests, proactively standardizing responses where possible and leading bespoke request fulfillment as needed
- Serve as the end-to-end owner for non-standard performance analytics, overseeing fund-level and position-level calculations, loss ratios, payout projections, and more, collaborating across Valuation, Fund Accounting, and Portfolio Data teams
- Maintain and monitor request logs and performance calendars, capturing metrics to drive process systematization, efficiency, and institutional memory
- Identify recurring request patterns and convert them into repeatable outputs (templates, dashboards, scheduled extracts), working with Data & Technology teams to optimize reporting architecture and automate workflows
- Represent performance-reporting needs in data and system design, leveraging tools such as iLevel, Geneva, Snowflake, and partnering with technology stakeholders
- Lead completion of performance-related DDQ sections for active/prospective fundraises, manage standard quarterly investor reporting packages, and support Investor Relations and Capital Markets for investor presentations
- Produce and validate track record cuts (IRR, MOIC, TVPI, DPI, RVPI, time-weighted returns), performance attribution analysis, and benchmark/peer comparisons; contribute to quarterly letter narrative and exhibits
- Act as the Finance reviewer for firmwide marketing materials and investor decks, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
- Direct and manage offshore analytics resources on performance reporting tasks, ensuring high quality and timeliness
- Serve as subject matter expert and advocate for performance-reporting processes in cross-team projects and system upgrades
Job Requirements
- 10 years of financial services experience with increasing responsibility in performance reporting, ideally within private credit, real estate, or alternative asset management
- Strong background in data analytics, performance reporting, and finance; experience with fund and position-level analysis required
- Advanced Excel capabilities; familiarity with data management, visualization tools such as Power BI, iLevel, Geneva, or Snowflake preferred
- Proven ability to design or re-engineer reporting processes for scale, including stakeholder coordination across Finance, Valuation, and Investor Relations
- Ownership mentality, analytical judgment, and a collaborative approach to solving non-standard requests in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to interact credibly with investors, partners, and senior executives
- Track record directing offshore or outsourced analytics resources and ensuring delivery standards
- Ability to thrive in fast-changing, dynamic environments and contribute to a culture of growth, autonomy, and team care
This position is based in New York City and requires four days per week in-office.
The annual base salary range is up to $225,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
