Schedule: Mid-Shifts | 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM

About the Opportunity

A hospital in Shepherdsville, KY is seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to support Emergency Department coverage on a locum contract running through June 2027. This role covers mid-shift blocks of 3-4 consecutive shifts at a time, with a preference for at least one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) included in each block.

The ideal candidate is BC in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), has experience with the Cerner EMR system, and is available for recurring block scheduling through the contract period.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct emergency medicine care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions
• Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams on patient care
• Accurately document patient encounters and treatment plans in the Cerner EMR
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Active Kentucky medical license strongly preferred (IMLC and temporary licenses available; travel candidates considered for October starts)

Schedule Details

• Mid-shifts: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Coverage in blocks of 3–4 shifts at a time
• At least 1 weekend shift (Sat/Sun) strongly preferred per block
