Director of Hedge Fund Operations

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Director of Fund Operations / Middle Office to lead critical operational, reconciliation, and client service functions for alternative investment portfolios. This role is responsible for overseeing daily and monthly processes, managing key relationships with prime brokers and fund administrators, and ensuring the integrity of portfolio data, valuations, and reporting. The Director will act as a senior escalation point, drive process improvements, and contribute to the overall operational strategy of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily reconciliation of positions, trades, and cash between internal systems and prime brokers, ensuring timely identification and resolution of discrepancies
• Manage relationships with prime brokers and counterparties, proactively resolving trade breaks and optimizing operational workflows
• Direct monthly reconciliation processes across tri-party positions, including cash, market values, and accruals
• Review and validate Administrator NAV packages, ensuring accuracy and completeness of fund accounting outputs
• Oversee the preparation and review of performance estimates and client reporting, including deliverables for senior stakeholders and COO-level clients
• Lead the buildout, maintenance, and governance of fund accrual schedules and portfolio accounting records
• Supervise corporate actions processing (dividends, splits, mergers, restructurings), ensuring accuracy and proper accounting treatment
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex operational, reconciliation, and accounting issues
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements across middle office and fund operations functions
• Partner cross-functionally with Front Office, Finance, Risk, and Technology teams to enhance data integrity and operational efficiency
• Mentor and manage junior team members, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team environment
