Locum Tenens Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

About the Opportunity
A healthcare system in Charleston, WV is seeking CRNAs for locum tenens assignments across three separate hospitals located within 5 minutes of each other, plus an ambulatory surgery center. The client has flexible coverage needs, equal to approximately 3 FTEs. Providers will care for patients of all ages in both inpatient and outpatient settings, primarily working in the Main ORs at one of the hospitals.
The ideal provider has strong general anesthesia experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the flexibility to adapt to a varied, busy surgical environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective anesthesia care for patients of all ages, inpatient and outpatient
- Complete pre-anesthesia assessments and develop appropriate anesthesia plans
- Administer anesthesia for a wide variety of surgical, diagnostic, and procedural cases
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Collaborate with physicians and the anesthesia care team to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
- Follow clinical, safety, and compliance standards
Case Mix
Providers will support a diverse case mix, including general, vascular, orthopedic, urology, plastics, dental, IR, thoracic, pediatric, neuro, cardiac, and endoscopy center cases.
Requirements
- Board Certified CRNA required
- Active West Virginia CRNA license required
- Minimum 2 years of CRNA experience required
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
Schedule Details
- Shift options: 5x8-hour or 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM or 7:00 AM-5:00 PM, depending on department needs
- No shift guarantee
- No call shifts
- Willingness to work weekends required, though not weekends only
- Flexible schedule
- Practice setting: hospital and ambulatory surgery center
