Atlas Molded Products, a division of Atlas Roofing Corporation, is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator for their Kansas City, KS facility.
The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for processing requisitions, creating POs, and assisting the Materials Manager as required to meet the varied needs of our customers in any of our 16 manufacturing plants.
Purchasing Coordinator Responsibilities & Duties
- Responsible for processing requisitions and purchase orders via PeopleSoft and procurement card transactions as well as distributing them to vendors.
- Review requisitions for completeness, accuracy, and confirm that proper approvals have been obtained when required.
- Ensure the tax / tax exempt status of all items are properly applied to Purchase Order & P-Card transactions.
- Post and maintain pricing as market conditions dictate.
- Verify that packing slips, bill of ladings & invoices are complete and correct for P-Card
- Assist AP with match exceptions, payment requests, invoicing issues, disputes, overages, shortages, or damages.
- Review inventory levels, make recommendations on frequency and order quantity based on min/max data, usage rates, and available price points.
- Maintain general Purchasing files according to set guidelines.
- Run queries in Peoplesoft related to item history, vendor history, and open Requisitions & Purchase Orders
- Relay cost change and lead-time information to appropriate users.
- Assist in bid process.
- Set up new vendors and suppliers in the system.
- Support efforts related to the clean-up & consolidation of changes to the part master.
- Assist with creation of new part numbers according to standard convention.
- Maintain awareness of blanket PO's and contracts that are due for re-bid or renewal.
- Resolve pricing discrepancies and other PO related issues.
- Participate in Vendor and Supplier performance tools and feedback assessments.
- Must be able to work independently, with little supervision, yet have a willingness to participate collaboratively as part a virtual team.
- Possess an aptitude to prioritize varied tasks.
- Other related procurement and supply chain duties as assigned.
Purchasing Coordinator Education & Experience
- High school graduate. Associate degree preferred.
- Experience in supply chain, material management, procurement or related area preferred.
Purchasing Coordinator Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Office
- Experience on MRP or ERP systems, PeopleSoft preferred.
- Must be fluent in the English language, including reading, writing and verbal.
- Must always maintain professional demeanor.
- Must be an effective communicator with various levels of the organization.
Location/Work Environment:
The position location is flexible and may be located in Kansas City, MO.
