Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company’s safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, subcontractors, and partners. This role will oversee safety operations across office, warehouse, and field environments, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards while fostering a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular visits to job sites and facilities to perform safety audits, inspections, and training.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for employees and subcontractors.
- Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters, including emergency response.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and warehouse staff to integrate safety into daily operations.
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years relevant experience.
- Degree in construction safety or equivalent preferred but not required.
- OSHA 30 certification required; CHST, CSP, or other safety certifications preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Experience working in both field and warehouse environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel regularly to job sites across multiple states.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
