What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent position at Atlas Metal Products Co., Inc.?
This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations on jobsites, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The superintendent is the main point of contact for on-site matters. This position will oversee and direct workers and subcontractors, communicate project expectations to team members, identify important milestones, track progress daily, ensure quality work, maintain a clean and safe work environment. Superintendents will communicate directly with vendors and clients on a regular basis in-person and via telephone and email.
The work schedule varies on a project-to-project basis with travel, overnight stays, and overtime required as needed. This position requires full-time work primarily taking place on active jobsites. PPE to be used as required (high-visibility shirts/vest, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and welding helmets provided). Exposure to noise and varying weather conditions is to be expected.
Candidates for the construction superintendent position will have 2-5 years’ experience as a construction superintendent, a strong understanding of the construction process and know how to read blueprints, specifications, addenda, and other documents. Candidates must be excellent communicators, organized, detail oriented, due date/task driven, proficient with Windows, Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Google, etc. and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Procore and Bluebeam Revu knowledge/experience is preferred but not required.
