What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Equipment Technician & Installer position at Atlas Medical?
Atlas Medical is hiring a Medical Equipment Technician & Installer for our Mid Atlantic territory. AM is a fast growing medical capital equipment distributor and service provider. We are investing heavily in technology, equipment, and most importantly, our people to continue our rapid growth by delivering impeccable service to our customers.
Our technicians perform all of the installation, service, and preventative maintenance for our customers’ medical equipment including surgical tables, lights, booms, washers, sterilizers, and more. Our techs install medical equipment to strict manufacturer specifications, inspect and test malfunctioning medical equipment following manufacturers’ specifications using provided instruments, and disassemble malfunctioning equipment and remove, repair and replace defective parts such as motors, pumps, bearings, transformers, and electronic equipment. This position is required to keep records and create reports of maintenance of equipment per our regulatory requirements using our cloud platform. This position will help cover the state of Virginia, eastern North Carolina, and eastern South Carolina- our team are road warriors! 95% of the time we’re home at the end of the day, however there are circumstances that dictate overnight stays (business class lodging provided).
Our technicians are each assigned a company-owned vehicle and proprietary tools and equipment. We provide scrubs and other uniforms. Our technicians provide their own non-proprietary tools.
We do in-depth training in our facility to cover our equipment and then provide complete high-level manufacturer specific training and certification.
Candidates must be comfortable on ladders, working in ceilings, and be strong enough to maneuver the equipment being installed or serviced.
Professional skills preferred:
Experience in servicing capital medical equipment: surgery tables, lights, booms, sterilizers, washers, etc.
Technological competence
Fast learner
Mechanically inclined
Knows how to properly handle and use basic tools.
Mechanical competence (plumbing, electrical, auto and aviation repair, construction, HVAC, etc.)
Affable: Great customer relations and communications with clinical staff
Personable and professional (communication and appearance)
