Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate collection of payments and co-pays
- Maintain precise medical records and documentation in EMR/EHR systems, adhering to HIPAA standards
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate patient flow and treatment scheduling
- Oversee billing, coding, and insurance claims processing, including managed care and utilization management procedures
- Supervise front desk staff and provide training on office procedures, medical administrative support, and customer service excellence
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, direct calls appropriately, and manage appointment reminders and follow-ups
- Assist with fiscal management tasks such as budgeting, inventory control, and basic financial reporting to ensure practice profitability
- Support human resources functions including onboarding new team members and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations like JCAHO standards
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth clinic operations across acute care settings or dental clinics
Skills
- Proven experience in medical office management within a dental or healthcare setting
- Strong proficiency in dental software platforms such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with eClinicalWorks or Epic is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare regulations
- Demonstrated supervisory experience leading front desk or administrative teams
- Competence in fiscal management including budgeting, financial reporting, and billing processes
- Effective communication skills to interact professionally with patients, staff, insurance providers, and external partners
- Ability to adapt quickly to new EMR/EHR systems and stay current on healthcare management best practices
- Experience in managing human resources functions within a clinical setting is preferred
