What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director position at Atlas Consultancy Group?
A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced veterinarian to take on a Medical Director position and lead the relaunch of a long-standing small animal practice in Los Angeles, CA. This is not your typical clinical role; this is a chance to rebuild, shape, and grow a hospital from the ground up, with full autonomy and strong financial backing.
This well-established GP hospital has served its local community for decades as a high-volume, accessible care provider. Following a period of closure in late 2024, the ownership group is now investing significantly into reopening the clinic, making this an exciting opportunity for a driven and entrepreneurial veterinarian to take the lead. You’ll play a pivotal role in designing workflows, influencing the clinic setup, and establishing the standard of care from day one.
Initially, you’ll be supported by a small, newly built team (CSR technicians), with plans to grow as the caseload develops. The practice will focus on dogs and cats, offering a mix of preventative care, routine surgery, and high-volume medicine tailored to a community that values practical, flexible treatment options. This role requires a confident, experienced clinician who is comfortable working independently, enjoys surgery, and is motivated to build both a team and a client base.
With a flexible schedule (including options for a 4-day week / 32 hours), strong earning potential ($200,000–$235,000), and substantial sign-on and retention bonuses, this role is ideal for someone looking to step into leadership and make a real impact.
