What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Coordinator — Home Care Agency position at Atlas Community Care?
Office Coordinator — Fargo
Atlas Community Care is a licensed home care provider serving North Dakota families. We're opening our Fargo office and looking for an Office Coordinator to run it.
This is the person our clients, caregivers, and families actually see and talk to. If you like being the one who keeps things organized and makes sure nothing falls through, this is that job.
What you'll do
Be the front door. You'll staff the office during business hours and be the first point of contact for walk-ins, phone calls, and mail. When a family calls confused about paperwork or a caregiver has a question about their schedule, you're who they reach.
Meet clients and families in person. You'll sit down with new clients to walk through service agreements and consents, answer questions, and help them understand how services work. Many are new to these programs and feeling overwhelmed. Doing this part well matters more than anything else on this list.
Handle the paperwork that has to happen in person. Employment eligibility verification for new hires, original document collection, and keeping physical files organized to state standards.
Point people to the right place. Our scheduling, HR, and intake staff work remotely. You're the one who makes sure a question reaches the right person and actually gets answered — not passed around.
Get out of the office when needed. Sometimes a signature won't come back, someone can't get their phone working for clock-in, or a client goes quiet. You'll visit homes to sort it out.
Keep us inspection-ready. State reviewers can arrive with little notice. You'll keep our files and office in order so that's never a scramble.
What we're looking for
- At least one year in healthcare administration, home care, social services, scheduling, or a similar office role
- Strong organization and genuine follow-through — you close loops without being reminded
- Comfortable explaining paperwork to people who are stressed or unfamiliar with the process
- Solid computer skills and able to pick up a new web-based system quickly
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
- Must pass a background check
Nice to have
- Experience with Medicaid home and community-based services or waiver programs
- Familiarity with Therap or electronic visit verification systems
- Bilingual. We pay a wage differential for this.
Why this role
You'd be the anchor of our Fargo operation from the beginning — not a seat in a large department. You'll know our clients and staff by name and have real say in how the office runs. As we grow, we'd rather promote someone who knows the work than hire a stranger to manage it.
Pay: $21–26 per hour depending on experience, plus performance bonuses. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, in our Fargo office. Benefits: Paid time off, paid holidays, and mileage reimbursement for client visits.
