Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in preparing accurate project cost estimates, supporting project planning, and ensuring competitive pricing for construction projects. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within a dynamic construction environment, utilizing advanced estimating tools and collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors. The Construction Estimator will be instrumental in driving project success through precise cost analysis, effective negotiation, and comprehensive understanding of construction processes.
Duties
- Prepare detailed construction estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project requirements using tools such as Planswift.
- Develop accurate cost projections for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services while considering market conditions and project scope.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to negotiate pricing and contractual terms to ensure competitive bids.
- Review and interpret construction contracts, drawings, and specifications to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in developing project budgets and perform cost control throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Support project management teams by providing timely estimates for change orders or scope modifications.
- Work with superintendants to track progress and assist in project management.
- Contribute to the development of bid proposals and assist in presenting estimates to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management processes.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, project management principles, and cost control strategies.
- Ability to read complex blueprints, specifications, and technical documents accurately.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for precise cost analysis and pricing accuracy.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients alike.
