Position Summary
The AWSG US Laboratory Manager leads the charge in driving operational excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction within a fast-paced testing environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless lab operations, top-tier quality standards, and a culture of continuous improvement. The manager will inspire and guide a high-performing team, optimize workflows, and serve as a key liaison for clients. From managing sample logistics to delivering precise, timely results, this role is all about making an impact—every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily lab operations of a materials testing laboratory, ensuring efficiency, safety, and high-quality output.
- Train, schedule, and supervise staff to maintain optimal workflow and performance.
- Manage client communications, including test updates, visits, and reporting.
- Oversee testing related to weathering, working on sample intake, preparation, testing, and data entry using LIMS.
- Conduct and review evaluations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Monitor and maintain lab equipment, instruments, and calibration schedules including weathering instruments.
- Ensure timely completion of testing for monthly billing and revenue forecasting.
- Uphold quality systems (e.g., ISO 17025), safety protocols, and 5S practices.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues; implement corrective actions.
- Support interlaboratory studies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements for Consideration
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a Science or Engineering-related field.
- 7–10 years of hands-on lab experience, with deep knowledge of commercial testing and industry standards, such as weathering, durability, textile, plastics, coatings, automotive, or building materials laboratories.
- Proven leadership in managing operations, budgets, customer relationships, and quality systems.
- Familiarity with standards such as ASTM, ISO, AATCC, SAE, Six Sigma, etc.
- Experience managing ISO 17025 or similar quality systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and lab management software.
- Strong visual acuity and ability to detect subtle changes in color, light, and texture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team and client engagement.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
