What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Services Coordinator position at AtlantiCare?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Emergency Services Coordinator provides administrative support for emergency room physicians and insures the coordination of services within the department. The Coordinator acts as a liaison with emergency room physicians and staff.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Associate's Degree in related field or specialized secretarial training required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
EXPERIENCE: 4-6 years administrative experience required within a healthcare environment, minimum 3 years at a senior level. Well-developed communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required. Proficiency with computer applications required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
Position requires desk/computer work for a majority of the time. Requires some walking and standing and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. Position requires increased amounts of repetitive motion with regard to typing.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the Emergency Department Chairman Physician.
