Responsibilities
- Perform general office duties and administrative tasks to support the nursing unit and departmental activities.
- Register and admit patients by accurately entering demographic, insurance, and financial information.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date medical records, ensuring patient confidentiality.
- Assist the care team in meeting patient needs and supporting team objectives.
- Collaborate with other team members, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrate flexibility, prioritize tasks, and use sound judgment in challenging situations.
- Ensure familiarity with institutional policies and procedures, especially in healthcare settings.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance processing for efficient operations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the care unit leadership or department manager.
- High School diploma or equivalent, with the ability to read, speak, and write English fluently.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification by 10/31/25 for existing employees, and new employees have 1 year from the hire or transfer date.
- Six to nine months of healthcare experience, preferably in an office or clerical role, to ensure familiarity with medical settings.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse team members.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred at the time of hire, with training provided for incumbents.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when handling sensitive patient information.
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications.
- Physical ability to perform essential functions, including lifting up to 30 pounds frequently and 100 pounds with assistance.
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
