We are seeking a dynamic, organized, and experienced Marine Service Manager to lead our service operations with professionalism and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the marine service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of marine technicians through coaching, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing support.
- Coordinate diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, commissioning, and warranty work for a variety of marine engines, systems, and vessels.
- Ensure all service work is completed accurately, safely, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing timely updates, accurate estimates, and solutions that build trust and long-term relationships.
- Prepare and manage work orders, estimates, invoices, and service records while maintaining clear and transparent communication throughout the repair process.
- Utilize QuickBooks and other service management software to manage invoicing, job costing, customer accounts, and financial reporting.
- Work closely with the Parts Manager to monitor inventory levels, maintain accurate stock counts, and ensure timely ordering of parts, tools, and service supplies to minimize technician downtime and maximize productivity.
- Oversee purchasing and vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing and efficient procurement of parts and equipment.
- Maintain department profitability through effective labor management, cost control, and identification of additional service opportunities when appropriate.
- Enforce all company safety policies and regulatory compliance standards.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and professional service facility.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Marine Service Manager or similar leadership role within the marine industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, propulsion systems, and vessel maintenance procedures.
- Experience managing technicians, coordinating service schedules, and maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, invoicing, job costing, and service department financial management.
- Experience with service writing, estimating software, inventory control, and parts management.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with service, parts, sales, and administrative teams.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.
