We are currently seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk I to join our growing team in Memphis, Tennessee. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk administers the movement of inventory into the facility and the movement of customer orders out of the facility.
This position supports our first shift, which operates from 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Releases shipments to Customers after Quality department reviews and approves
- Coordinates shipment pickup and delivery times
- Creates bill of lading (BOL) to acknowledge shipments
- Facilitates release of product in labor management systems (LMS) by Customer
- Maintains a Daily Shipping Log and distributes daily to management
- Coordinates Inbound shipments and prepares receiving reports
- Coordinates with customer for deliveries of material
- Partners with internal Sales team to ensure steady flow of information
- Promptly notifies the Customer of deliveries or delays
- Ensures the Customer is ready for delivery with appropriate unloading equipment
- Maintains awareness of regulatory requirements and customer service expectations
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED, TASC, HiSET, etc.)
- Strong customer service experience
- Understanding of types of carriers, loads, and freight lanes as well as load limits
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- High level of competence using Microsoft programs and other systems used in the quality control program
- Possesses a good understanding of the essentials for safety in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work on-site in Memphis, Tennessee
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline
- Strong background in achieving support to all levels of management
- Prior experience with knowledge of logistic terms, definitions and concepts
