We’re currently seeking a Material Handler I to join our growing team in Richmond, Illinois. The selected candidate will move, pick, pack, and ship away various materials and parts.
This position will support our first shift, which operates Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintains a Daily Shipping Log and distributes daily to management
- Maintains awareness of regulatory requirement and customer service expectations
- Ensures activities in the shipping and receiving department are carried out
- Loads and unloads trucks using a forklift
- Fulfills pack and ship orders based on direction from leadership, at times coordinating with the Production team
- Organizes material in the yard to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment
- Disposes of packing material and any other trash that may lie in the yard
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) with strong customer service experience
- Understanding of types of carriers , loads , and freight lanes as well as load limits
- High level of competence using Microsoft programs and other systems used in the QC program
- Possesses a good understanding of the essentials for safety in a manufacturing environment
- Must have knowledge of basic “shop” math (fractions, decimals, etc.) and be able to read a tape measure down to 1/32nd of an inch
- Ability to work on-site in Richmond, Illinois
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Prior forklift certification
