We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hearth Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of hearth products, including fireplaces, stoves, and related equipment. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient operation of heating appliances while providing exceptional service to our clients. Responsibilities
- Assist with and perform installations of wood, pellet, and gas stoves, fireplaces, venting systems, and related hearth products
- Perform chimney sweeping, inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Assist with chimney lining, masonry repairs, and repointing
- Diagnose and repair hearth appliances under the guidance of experienced technicians
- Safely use ladders, scaffolding, power tools, hand tools, and job-specific equipment
- Work safely and confidently on rooftops and at elevated heights
- Load, unload, transport, and move heavy stoves, equipment, tools, and materials
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Protect customers’ homes and property while completing service work
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers and team members
Required Qualifications
- Ability to safely lift and move heavy objects
- Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the workday
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working on roofs and at elevated heights
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Professional and respectful attitude when working in customers’ homes
Preferred Qualifications
- Carpentry or construction experience
- Experience in the hearth, chimney, masonry, HVAC, roofing, or related trades
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with wood, pellet, or gas hearth appliances
