Atlantic Property Management is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Property Accountant to support the accounting and financial activities of our commercial real estate portfolio. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare and review monthly financial statements for assigned commercial properties.
· Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
· Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
· Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, tenant receivables, and other balance sheet accounts.
· Monitor and reconcile rent collections, tenant billings, Common Area Maintenance (CAM) charges, and other recoverable expenses.
· Partner with property management teams to prepare and analyze budgets, investigate variances, and support financial reporting needs.
· Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
· Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company procedures.
· Ad hoc requests
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
· 0–2 years of accounting experience; experience in real estate or property management is a plus.
· Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
· Experience with property management and accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, or AppFolio preferred.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience performing CAM reconciliations and lease accounting activities.
· Knowledge of commercial lease structures
· Familiarity with commercial property financial reporting and tenant accounting processes.
