AMI is seeking a full time Lead Receptionist to join the Front Desk Team! The position will provide oversight, coverage, and supervision to the Receptionist team in AMI's Brick office location.

The Lead Receptionist is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Supervises the daily operations of the front desk for the assigned location.
- Prepares the monthly work schedule and ensures time-off requests are approved according to organizational needs.
- Works to ensure the department is properly staffed to provide excellent customer service.
- Ensures work is distributed appropriately throughout the department and rotates assignments as necessary.
- For the assigned location, it ensures that the front desk staff provides a high level of customer service and meets the needs of our patients and visitors.
- Addresses performance issues in a timely and appropriate manner. Conducts annual staff evaluations promptly and provides any necessary counseling for direct reports.
- Works with the Front Desk Coordinator to orient/train new employees. Ensures all aspects of training are completed. Provides support and direction to new staff to ensure their success.
- For the assigned location, develops expertise in the computer systems used, particularly the RIS, to properly train staff, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure accurate data input and storage.
- For the assigned location, orders office, computer, and copier supplies. Administers the petty cash fund.
- For the assigned office, serves as a liaison between the Office Administrator and staff to resolve conflicts or answer questions.
- Works cooperatively with the Office Administrator, Front Desk Coordinator, and modalities to ensure that administrative functions run smoothly.
- Greets patients in a welcoming manner upon arrival, signs them in, and obtains their demographic information.
- Verifies that the patient's demographic information is accurate and ensures that insurance cards, consents, and other documents are complete and in order.
- Answers phone calls and routes them to the appropriate staff or department to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Maintains surveillance of all patients and visitors in the waiting area.
- Responsible for following standardized training protocols and utilizing defined training tools and checklists.
- Ensures that each receptionist receives consistent, standardized training and development.
- Responsible for ensuring that current Operations Guidelines are available to all staff and that all staff are competent.
- Assists in communicating approved administrative changes that impact the receptionist staff.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.
This full time, 40 hour per week position is based in AMI's Brick office location. The work schedule includes Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and candidates must be flexible to work occasional evening & weekend coverage when needed. Training for this position will take place in other local, regional offices.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have prior supervisory or management experience. Candidates must have a High School Diploma, or equivalent; some college coursework preferred. Experience in healthcare, a medical office, or hospital is strongly preferred. Intermediate computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR are required. Leadership skills, exceptional verbal & written communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary to ensure success within this role. The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is required. Candidates must have the ability to energize the office and contribute to a positive work environment.
