Atlantic Health is seeking a transformational leader to serve as Senior Vice President of Clinical Service Lines. This role provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for horizontally integrated service lines across our multi-hospital system. The SVP will drive metric-driven performance, cross-functional collaboration, and transformational growth. The role functions in a dyad partnership with an administrative SVP, jointly accountable for clinical excellence, financial outcomes, and strategic execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development and integration of service across hospitals, ambulatory centers, and physician practices. Prioritize institutes (e.g., Heart & Vascular, Cancer, Neurosciences) that offer potential for growth, differentiation, and standardization.
- Collaborate with clinicians to design and implement evidence-based care pathways and protocols that are consistently applied across all hospitals and outpatient settings. Leverage data analytics to track compliance and evaluate clinical outcomes. Facilitate cross-site physician engagement to jointly develop, validate, and continuously improve standards of care.
- Work in a highly integrated dyad partnership with the administrative service line leader to co-lead all aspects of service line management. Ensure seamless coordination of clinical and operational functions across hospitals, outpatient centers, and physician practices. Align strategic priorities with system-wide goals for quality, access, growth, and financial sustainability. Jointly develop and execute annual service line plans, including budgeting, capital planning, workforce optimization, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Cultivate trust-based, collaborative relationships with both employed and affiliated physicians across Atlantic Health to foster alignment, engagement, and shared accountability for service line performance. Actively engage physicians in strategic planning, clinical standardization, and operational decision-making to ensure their voices shape the direction of the institute(s).
- Recruit, mentor, and develop clinical leaders aligned with system goals. Create mechanisms for regular input and dialogue between frontline clinicians and service line leadership.
- Lead the strategic integration of research, education, and innovation within the service line or institute. Foster partnerships with academic institutions, clinical investigators, and industry collaborators to promote translational research and evidence-based practice.
- Champion the development of educational programs for physicians, trainees, and allied health professionals that support lifelong learning and clinical excellence. Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies, care models, and digital solutions that enhance patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and system reputation.
- Monitor performance metrics and use data to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement and accountability.
- Partner with executive leadership, nursing, IT, and other key partners to ensure alignment and support.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, including oversight of horizontally integrated service lines.
- Proven success in leading across complex, matrixed organizations. Demonstrated ability to lead multi-hospital service line integration.
- Medical Degree (MD or DO), RN, or other clinical specialty preferred.
- Strong understanding of clinical operations, value-based care, financial management, and strategic planning.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and change management skills
