Job Overview – Tax Specialist

Compensation: $90,000 – $145,000/year bonus

Location: New Castle County, DE

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Tax Specialist in New Castle County, DE for our client, supporting indirect tax compliance, reporting, and audit activities within a large multinational environment. This hybrid role focuses on state and local tax obligations, including sales and use tax, while partnering closely with finance, legal, and operational teams. The position offers strong exposure to complex tax matters and opportunities for growth within a global organization.

Responsibilities as the Tax Specialist:

• Tax Compliance: Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Tax Reporting: Perform reconciliations between general ledger accounts and tax filings to ensure accuracy.
• Audit Support: Lead or support state and local tax audits, including responding to requests and coordinating documentation.
• Technical Research: Analyze tax regulations and assess the taxability of products and services.
• Regulatory Monitoring: Track legislative changes and evaluate impacts on business operations.
• Systems Management: Maintain tax systems and support integration with ERP platforms.

Qualifications for the Tax Specialist:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required, CPA or advanced tax degree is preferred.
• Experience: 5 years of tax experience within public accounting and or a corporate environment is required.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong experience in state and local tax compliance, reporting, and audit support is required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and experience with tax systems and ERP platforms is required.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities are required.
