Atlantic Group is hiring a Revenue Accounting Manager (Investments) in Boston, MA for our client, supporting revenue recognition, investment accounting, and financial reporting. This role focuses on interpreting complex revenue transactions, managing accounting for investments and endowments, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP. The Revenue Accounting Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams while leveraging ERP systems and Excel to drive accurate reporting and process improvements.
Responsibilities as the Revenue Accounting Manager (Investments):
- Revenue Recognition: Lead the accounting and reporting of revenue streams, applying ASC 606 guidance to ensure accurate and compliant recognition.
- Technical Accounting: Analyze contracts and agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions and prepare supporting documentation.
- Month-End Close: Oversee revenue-related journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations to support timely and accurate financial close processes.
- Investment Accounting: Manage accounting and reporting for investment activity, including reconciliations, performance tracking, and financial analysis.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review reporting schedules, variance analysis, and supporting documentation for financial statements and leadership review.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Experience: 5 years of accounting experience with strong exposure to revenue recognition and financial reporting is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) is required, with exposure to investments or endowments preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to manage complex accounting processes independently.
