Job Overview – Paraprofessional (School-Based)

Compensation: $23.70 – $30/hour (Dependent on Experience)

Location: Bronx, NY

Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per Diem

Atlantic Group is hiring School-Based Paraprofessionals in Bronx, NY for our client, supporting K–12 students in classroom settings. Full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities are available for candidates providing one-on-one and small group support to students with academic, behavioral, developmental, and special education needs. This role works closely with teachers and school staff to reinforce instruction, support classroom structure, and help students succeed throughout the school day.

This position is available across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island based on candidate preference!

Responsibilities as the School-Based Paraprofessional:

• Student Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with academic and behavioral needs.
• Classroom Assistance: Support teachers with instruction, classroom activities, and daily routines.
• Behavioral Support: Assist with behavior management strategies and intervention plans.
• Student Engagement: Encourage participation, focus, and positive social interaction in the classroom.
• Documentation: Track student progress and communicate updates with teachers and school staff.

Qualifications for the School-Based Paraprofessional:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification: Teacher Assistant (TA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
• Experience: Prior experience as a Paraprofessional, Teacher Assistant, Teacher Aide, HHA, CNA, or in a similar support role is required.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience supporting children or individuals with special needs is required.
• Technical Skills: Ability to provide classroom, behavioral, or one-on-one support while following instructional plans is required.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, school staff, and families are required.
