Human Resources Manager – Trenton (Onsite)

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and solutions-oriented HR Manager to oversee all HR functions and support the effective and efficient operations of our organization. This position is 100% onsite and best suited for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and has deep experience managing unionized workforces.

Experience processing union payroll is required. Please only apply if you have this experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all HR functions, ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations and union contracts.
• Oversee and drive the implementation of a new payroll system; must be fully experienced with union payroll requirements, deductions, dues, and reporting.
• Maintain accurate and confidential HR files, records, and documentation.
• Conduct or oversee background checks, eligibility verification, and new hire onboarding.
• Serve as the primary resource for employee questions related to policies, benefits, procedures, and union matters.
• Administer and execute HR programs including: compensation, benefits, leave management, performance management, disciplinary actions, investigations, recognition programs, safety, and training/development.
• Conduct audits of HR data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and implement a training plan for staff across departments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive HR experience
• Union experience required, including hands-on union payroll experience
• Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems; payroll system implementation strongly preferred
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
• Proven ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
