Atlantic Group is hiring a Fund Controller (Private Credit) in New York, NY for our client. This in-office role oversees fund accounting, financial reporting, and portfolio valuation for private credit strategies. You’ll manage quarterly closes, audits, and regulatory filings while liaising with fund administrators and investment teams. Ideal for fund accounting professionals with private credit or alternative investment experience and strong valuation and loan servicing expertise.
Responsibilities as the Fund Controller (Private Credit):
- Fund Accounting: Oversee all aspects of fund accounting and quarterly reporting through Partner Capital Statement sign-offs.
- Financial Reporting: Manage annual audits, prepare GAAP financial statements, and ensure timely regulatory filings such as Form PF.
- Valuation Oversight: Lead quarterly portfolio valuations using PE-style methodologies (DCF, comparables, replacement cost).
- Loan Servicing: Review and track loan agreements, payments, and receipts while coordinating with borrowers and investment teams.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate loan files and ensure compliance with UCC, insurance, and custodial requirements.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA or MBA preferred).
- Experience: 6-12 years of experience in fund accounting, auditing, or controllership within private credit, private equity, or alternative investments.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with fund accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., Investran, Geneva, or Wall Street Office).
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of private credit structures, loan servicing, valuation methodologies, and regulatory reporting (GAAP, Form PF).
- Skills & Attributes: Analytical and detail-oriented finance leader with exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills who excels in fast-paced investment environments.
