Title: Registered Fund Controller
Location: Midtown Manhattan (Hybrid)
Comp: $200K-$225K base bonus
Our client, a rapidly scaling $100bn global investment firm is launching a new registered fund and seeking a senior-level Registered Fund Controller to serve as the CFO of the vehicle. This is a high-visibility role with a clear path toward a future CFO title as the platform continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the acting CFO/Controller and Principal Accounting Officer for Exchange Act reporting purposes
- Oversee full-cycle fund accounting, including NAV calculations, capital activity, and investor allocations
- Prepare and review quarterly U.S. GAAP financial statements and approve SEC and public fund filings
- Lead audit management, internal controls, and accounting policy development
- Partner with fund administrators on NAVs, investor reporting, and operational workflows
- Lead distributor onboarding, operational due diligence, and coordination of regulatory, KYC/AML, and compliance processes
- Design and implement operational infrastructure for new distribution channels and vehicles
This role works closely with senior leadership in both the U.S. and Europe and will function as the financial owner of a newly launched registered investment product.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
- 8–15 years of experience in fund accounting/fund finance/controller roles
