Our client, a New York-based investment firm with a strong reputation in the real estate investment space is seeking a Benefits Specialist to join their growing HR team in the NYC office.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the design and day-to-day administration of self-funded medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k) retirement plans
- Handle employee enrollment, life event updates, and related enrollment processes
- Serve as a key point of contact with TPAs, stop-loss carriers, PBMs, plan recordkeepers, and benefits consultants to keep plan operations running smoothly
- Track claims trends and plan performance metrics on an ongoing basis
- Ensure ongoing compliance across benefits, retirement, and leave programs, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, EEO-1 reporting, Section 125 Cafeteria Plans, Form 5500 filings, 401(k) administration, state paid leave requirements, USERRA, and other relevant employment regulations
- Keep plan documents, summary plan descriptions (SPDs), and compliance records accurate and up to date
- Build out benefit reporting, track utilization trends, and support related budgeting efforts
- Contribute to benefits projects, system rollouts, and ongoing process improvements
- Act as a resource for employees on plan details, eligibility, enrollment, and how to navigate claims
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline preferred
- 3-5 years of hands-on benefits administration experience
- Background supporting self-funded medical plans as well as 401(k) retirement plans
- Familiarity working alongside TPAs, PBMs, stop-loss carriers, recordkeepers, consultants, and payroll providers
- Solid grasp of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, Section 125 Cafeteria Plans, FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, retirement plan compliance, EEO-1 reporting, Form 5500 filings, state paid leave programs, and other relevant federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Highly organized with a sharp eye for detail
- Strong communicator, both written and verbal, with polished interpersonal skills
Salary : $90,000 - $130,000
