The Atlantic Group has partnered with a rapidly growing medical center in the Bronx, NY area. They have an immediate need for a Provider Contracting Specialist to join their team. This position is a full-time contract role with the opportunity to become permanent based on performance.

 

Job Title: Provider Contracting Specialist

Department: Provider Relations

Setting: Hybrid, 1-2 days in office, schedule can change at any time, so flexibility is required.

Schedule: 8:30AM – 5:30PM

Weekly Hours: 40

 

Overview:

The Provider Contracting Specialist develops, negotiates, and manages contracts with a wide range of healthcare providers, including IPA’s, primary care and specialty practices, LHCSAs, FQHCs, ancillary providers, and hospital systems. This role ensures contracts align with organizational, regulatory, and financial standards while maintaining strong provider relationships and supporting performance monitoring.

 

Key Responsibilities:

-Negotiate, draft, and manage provider contracts and renewals.

-Maintain accurate contract records and documentation in management systems.

-Collaborate with legal, compliance, finance, and operations teams on contract execution.

-Track provider performance and compliance with quality and reimbursement standards.

-Respond to provider inquiries and resolve contract or payment issues promptly.

-Support network development by identifying and onboarding new providers.

-Ensure all contracts comply with federal, state, and organizational regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS).

 

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).

-1–2 years of experience in healthcare provider or vendor contracting, managed care, or a related role.

-Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid required; health plan experience preferred.

-Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn contract management tools.
