Summary/Objective
The Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the facility. The Sanitation Associate includes cleaning and sanitizing food production equipment, machinery, and surfaces, adhering to safety standards, and performing general janitorial duties. The role ensures a safe and orderly environment by following company health and safety policies and reporting any unsafe conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Work schedule Tuesday-Saturday
- Clean and sanitize all food production equipment and machinery
- Clean and sanitize all required equipment and surfaces
- Understand and adhere to all safety standards and requirements
- Perform general janitorial, cleaning, and sanitation tasks in warehouse facilities, including dry, cooler and freezer areas
- May perform similar duties in office areas as assigned
- Operate pallet jack to transport refuse/trash to appropriate receptacles
- Handle and work with cleaning chemicals
- Follow all safety rules and complete duties as assigned per business need
- Complete all work according to company health and safety policies and guidelines
- Report all unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately to ensure safety of all associates
- Perform cleaning duties as assigned, including but not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash pickup, and related janitorial tasks
- Handle all cleaning chemicals as directed in hazmat material sheets
- Support the production department by cleaning and preparing for the next shift
Qualification Requirements
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication and time management skills

- Specific vision abilities required, include close vision and peripheral vision
- High school diploma/GED and minimum 6 months of related experience
- Must be able to count and have basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions)
- Must be able to have basic computer skills (data entry, Microsoft Office, Google Sheets)
Physical Demands and Abilities
- Required to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of –15 degrees Fahrenheit and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold and precipitation)
- Regularly lift and moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Must tolerate heights up to 40 ft. and be able to access elevated platforms
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
- Frequently required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch
