Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations using OpenTable or similar booking systems to ensure smooth seating flow.
- Provide attentive table service, including taking orders, serving food and beverages, and upselling menu items to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for accurate order entry and cash handling.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables promptly and assisting with food preparation or food handling as needed.
- Manage cashier duties by processing payments accurately, handling cash and credit transactions responsibly, and providing correct change.
- Assist with guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Support the host/hostess responsibilities by managing waitlists, seating guests efficiently, and coordinating with kitchen staff to optimize service flow.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred; fine dining or buffet experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable for reservations is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining professionalism.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables and tasks efficiently during busy hours.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy; previous cashiering experience is desirable.
- Culinary or kitchen experience can be beneficial but is not required; a passion for hospitality is essential.
