Role Overview

Atlanta Transformation Group (ATG) is seeking one highly experienced professional to serve as a strategic partner on a healthcare revenue-cycle transformation engagement. The selected partner will lead the revenue cycle management workstream in partnership with ATG, providing both project leadership and deep subject-matter expertise across medical billing, coding, payer requirements, reimbursement, compliance, and revenue-cycle operations.

This role is designed for a hands-on leader who can assess the full RCM function, shape the future state, develop high-quality technical content, and drive recommendations through implementation while coordinating closely with ATG’s broader transformation team.

The Senior Revenue Cycle Management Project Manager will lead the specialized RCM workstream. This includes owning the technical approach, sequencing and execution of RCM activities, technical analysis, recommendations, subject-matter content, quality review, and RCM-focused stakeholder engagement. The partner will coordinate dependencies, surface risks early, maintain alignment with ATG’s integrated workplan, and help convert technical findings into practical, sustainable operating capability.

Responsibilities

·   Lead a comprehensive assessment of medical billing, coding, documentation, reimbursement, compliance, and revenue-cycle practices.

·   Identify revenue leakage, missed billing opportunities, compliance risks, documentation deficiencies, control gaps, and reimbursement opportunities.

·   Evaluate Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial/private payer requirements and translate them into actionable operating guidance.

·   Provide specialized expertise in behavioral health or comparable healthcare billing environments.

·   Review CPT and HCPCS coding, modifiers, diagnosis coding, medical necessity, documentation requirements, payer rules, provider qualifications, and related compliance considerations.

·   Conduct or direct coding reviews, audits, quality assurance, and optimization activities.

·   Assess authorization, eligibility, charge capture, claim submission, denials and appeals, payment posting, reconciliation, and related end-to-end RCM workflows.

·   Develop payer-specific billing, reimbursement, documentation, and compliance guidance.

·   Recommend RCM staffing structures, roles, responsibilities, segregation of duties, internal controls, escalation paths, and operating practices.

·   Develop technical content for a comprehensive Billing Operations Manual, including policies, SOPs, workflows, controls, escalation procedures, audit guidance, and payer-specific requirements.

·   Develop technical content for billing, coding, documentation, compliance, reimbursement, and revenue-integrity training; lead or support delivery of that training.

·   Define KPIs, audit protocols, performance-management practices, reporting logic, and dashboard requirements for ongoing RCM oversight.

·   Design the future-state RCM operating model, workflows, governance, controls, and capability requirements.

·   Review ATG deliverables for RCM accuracy, completeness, practicality, and alignment with payer and compliance requirements.

·   Lead and participate in workshops, working sessions, and leadership discussions; communicate findings, risks, decisions, and recommendations clearly.

Required Qualifications

·   Significant progressive experience in revenue cycle management, medical billing, coding, reimbursement, compliance, or closely related healthcare operations.

·   Demonstrated experience leading RCM projects from assessment through implementation.

·   Ability to independently manage RCM workstream activities, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and deliverables.

·   Strong stakeholder-management and facilitation skills across clinical, billing, finance, compliance, and leadership teams.

·   Ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations and drive those recommendations through implementation.

·   Strong written deliverable development and executive presentation skills.

·   Direct experience with behavioral health or comparable healthcare billing environments.

·   Deep knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial/private payer requirements.

·   Strong command of CMS guidance, CPT/HCPCS coding, modifiers, diagnosis coding, documentation standards, medical necessity, provider qualifications, and billing compliance.

·   Proven success improving end-to-end RCM functions, including front-end, mid-cycle, back-end, denial, payment, reconciliation, and performance-management processes.

·   Experience developing manuals, SOPs, workflows, internal controls, payer guidance, audit tools, and training materials.

·   CPB, CPC, or an equivalent billing/coding credential is strongly preferred.

·   Ability to provide three relevant professional references or examples of comparable engagements.

·   Demonstrated capacity for independent leadership, sound judgment, collaboration, and timely delivery.

·   U.S.-based availability and the ability to participate in remote meetings and scheduled working sessions.
