Position Summary
The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors and is responsible for creating a warm, professional, and efficient check-in experience. This role focuses on front-of-house operations, scheduling support, and day-to-day patient flow in a busy specialty practice.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Experience & Front Desk Operations
- Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally in person and by phone
- Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately
- Maintain a polished, calm, and organized front desk environment
- Answer incoming calls and route messages appropriately
Scheduling & Administrative Support
- Schedule and confirm appointments as directed by clinical staff
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information
- Collect co-pays and process payments
- Prepare daily schedules and assist with patient flow
Office & Team Support
- Communicate clearly with clinical staff and providers
- Scan, upload, and organize patient documents in the EMR
- Assist with general administrative tasks to support clinic operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a receptionist, front desk, or customer service role
- Medical office experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional demeanor and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Comfort with computers and scheduling systems
