Paint Pickup Driver Job Description Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team, specializing in picking up paint products from residential and commercial customers. Unlike traditional delivery roles, you will start with an empty truck and end the day with a full load of collected paint. Your role will represent our company’s commitment to professionalism, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, contributing to our profitability and positive reputation. The ability to switch between driving a van or a box truck with a liftgate is preferred, as routes and responsibilities may vary daily.
Responsibilities
- Collect a wide variety of paint products from various residential and commercial addresses, following assigned routes.
- Adhere to routes and time schedules to ensure timely pickups.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate the assigned vehicle (van or box truck with liftgate).
- Engage with customers professionally, seeking feedback on services and addressing any complaints promptly.
- Complete daily logs and reports using an iPad or iPhone.
- Comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety standards.
- Build and manage daily routes/schedules to complete all assignments efficiently.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or similar role.
- Valid professional driver’s license.
- Ability to switch between driving a van and a box truck with liftgate experience.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage daily routes and schedules.
- Good driving record with no traffic violations.
- Ability to properly lift and load up to 75 lbs when needed.
- Familiarity with using iPad or iPhone for reporting and communication.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift operation experience is a plus for unloading and resetting the van.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating a box truck with a liftgate.
- Strong customer service skills to enhance client satisfaction.
