The Sales Estimator is a revenue-driving role responsible for owning the full lifecycle of job opportunities, from initial estimate creation through follow-up, conversion, and scheduling. This role serves as a key bridge between customers, vendors, and internal teams, maintaining clear visibility across the pipeline while driving opportunities to an outcome. Performance in this role is measured by estimate conversion rate, jobs booked, and consistency of pipeline follow-up.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Estimating & Opportunity Creation:
- Review technician notes and job details to develop clear, accurate estimates
- Source vendor pricing, equipment options, and lead times
- Build, price, and present professional estimates to customers
- Ensure all estimates align with scope, timeline, and profitability targets
Pipeline Ownership & Follow-Up:
- Own the full estimate pipeline and ensure nothing falls through the cracks
- Follow up on every estimate until Sold or Closed Lost with clear documentation
- Execute consistent, structured follow-up via phone and email
- Re-engage stalled, declined, and unresponsive opportunities
- Continuously improve conversion rates through disciplined follow-up
Sales Conversion & Customer Communication:
- Confidently address customer questions and objections to move jobs forward
- Guide customers toward clear decisions and scheduled work
- Escalate technical or pricing questions when needed
- Communicate professionally and proactively with customers, vendors, and internal teams
- Coordinate with dispatch and operations to schedule sold work quickly
- Ensure clean handoff from sale to execution with complete and accurate information
- Maintain alignment between what was sold and how the job is executed
