Overview
ATL-ABC is seeking reliable and motivated independent contractors to complete small-package delivery routes throughout the Tampa, Florida area. Drivers will pick up assigned packages and make accurate, timely residential and commercial deliveries using their own reliable, insured vehicle and smartphone.
Compensation is based on successfully delivered packages. Route availability, delivery areas, and daily package volume may vary according to operational demand. This is a 1099 independent-contractor opportunity, not a W-2 employee position. Contractors are responsible for their own fuel, vehicle expenses, and taxes.
Responsibilities
- Pick up, scan, organize, and safely load assigned packages.
- Complete accepted delivery routes accurately and within the expected service window.
- Verify addresses and follow all customer delivery instructions.
- Use the required delivery application to navigate routes, update package statuses, and provide clear proof-of-delivery photos.
- Handle packages carefully and protect them from loss, damage, theft, and weather exposure.
- Contact the customer before marking a package undeliverable and promptly notify management of access problems, delays, missing packages, or other delivery issues.
- Maintain a strong daily completion rate, with a general goal of 98% or higher when reasonably achievable for the assigned route.
- Follow traffic laws, safe-driving practices, and applicable delivery procedures. Packages must never be placed inside a USPS mailbox.
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, warehouse personnel, and management.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Reliable personal vehicle suitable for small-package delivery.
- Current vehicle registration and automobile insurance that meets company and carrier requirements.
- Smartphone with an active data plan and the ability to use delivery, navigation, and communication applications.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and deliver packages and regularly enter and exit a vehicle throughout the route.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow delivery instructions.
- Dependable, organized, and responsive to communications regarding accepted routes.
- Professional communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to pass any required background check and motor vehicle record review.
- Previous delivery, courier, rideshare, or route-driving experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be willing and able to report to the warehouse by either 5:30 AM, or 6:30 AM depending on the pickup shift for the accepted route.
Route Pickup
Drivers must report to the warehouse at the designated pickup time for their accepted route:
- First-shift route pickup: 5:30 a.m.
- Second-shift route pickup: 6:30 a.m.
After picking up and loading their packages, drivers will travel to their designated delivery area.
Pay: $600.00 - $2,000.00 per week
