Pipe Stress Engineer

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer to join our Power & Industrial Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Bothell, WA.

YOUR ROLE

• Work closely with a multi‑discipline engineering team, collaborators, and clients.
• Assist with basic pipe stress analysis for power and industrial piping systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support the modeling of piping systems using stress‑analysis software to help evaluate flexibility, stability, and equipment nozzle loads.
• Proactively gather information and ask questions to complete tasks accurately and on schedule.
• Help balance tasks across multiple projects while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
• Build positive working relationships with colleagues, partners, and clients.
• Prepare clear, organized calculations with proper references and assumptions.
• Learn about pipe materials, valves, relief valves, and control valves.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as needed.
• Assist in communicating questions to equipment suppliers and reviewing technical documents.
• Occasional travel to project sites for installation verification of piping work
  
  

About You

• EXPERIENCE:
• Any field experience in construction, industrial, or piping is a plus
• EDUCATION:
• Completion of Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited college/university.
• SPECIAL SKILLS:
• Any CAD experience and any experience with Navisworks, AutoPipe, or Caesar
• Proficient interpersonal and communications skills.
• Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
• Capability to develop technical writings and reports.
• PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS:
• E.I. or E.I.T. (nice to have)

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $80,000 - $88,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
