ATI is seeking to hire a Manager - Process Controls and Automation to support our Vandergrift (PA) Operations, including material annealing, pickling, rolling, slitting and shipping facility.

This position is responsible for improving and streamlining our manufacturing processes through the design, configuration, implementation, support, and integration of process control and automation systems. You'll support process control applications utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control Systems, Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems (SCADA).

A successful Manager - PC&A will have to quickly develop a strong understanding of the Vandergrift Facility to identify and develop efficient methods and processes to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability through technical innovation. The expectation will be to work with senior management in casting a vision for the future which supports the corporate business plans and facility operations. In addition, the manager in this position will work to develop technical depth, oversee tasking and development of members of the Vandergrift PC&A Team. There may be opportunities to provide remote support to other facilities in the business unit.

Essential Functions

• Analyze and troubleshoot challenges to appropriately recommend continuous improvement strategies and solutions.
• Apply advanced engineering principles and process control strategies to improve operating efficiency of new and existing automation systems.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement process control models, strategies, and other methods for ensuring strong outputs, reliability and efficiencies.
• Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and project modifications.
• Assure process documentation is regularly developed and maintained.
• Interface with multiple equipment suppliers to understand their equipment operation and control.
• Perform appraisals of subordinate engineers and work toward their development.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with exposure to Automation, Programming, and control systems theory
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Ten years of electrical process controls, automation, or electrical controls and instrumentation experience
• Advanced degree in Engineering
• Allen Bradley PLC Based Control Systems
• Controls Systems PE or Electrical PE license
