ATI is seeking a Buyer & Supplier Onboarding Specialist to join our Millersburg, Oregon facility. We are a manufacturer of technically advanced specialty materials and complex components supporting markets such as aerospace, defense, oil & gas, electrical energy, medical, automotive, and other industrial sectors. This is a day shift, on-site position (Monday-Friday) reporting to the Purchasing Director.
The Buyer & Supplier Onboarding Specialist is responsible for the procurement of services and the execution of supplier onboarding and compliance activities in support of plant and corporate operations. This role sits at the intersection of procurement, supplier management, and internal stakeholder support. The position requires independent judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple service suppliers while ensuring ATI onboarding, compliance, and documentation requirements are met. This is not an entry-level role — success requires prior buying experience and the ability to own processes end-to-end.

Primary Responsibilities
Services Procurement
- Act as the primary buyer for service-based spend, including leasing services, software services, and operational support services.
- Review, evaluate, and process service requisitions and purchase orders in alignment with ATI procurement policies.
- Support sourcing activities including RFQs, bid evaluations, pricing analysis, and supplier selection.
- Participate in service agreement negotiations, including pricing, scope of work, payment terms, and duration.
- Monitor service supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, cost, delivery, or contract compliance.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives related to service spend.
- Act as the site-level process owner for documenting, streamlining, and automating the supplier onboarding workflow.
- Lead supplier onboarding activities, ensuring new vendors meet ATI requirements related to documentation, compliance, insurance, safety, and system setup.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to identify and mitigate risks during supplier selection.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers during the onboarding process.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Legal, EHS, Finance, AP, IT, and Operations) to ensure timely and compliant supplier activation.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and documentation within Oracle and supporting systems.
- Ensure ongoing supplier compliance and support periodic audits or reviews as required.
- Partner with internal customers to understand service requirements, timelines, and operational impacts.
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable and Finance to resolve invoicing or supplier setup issues.
- Develop and maintain technical solutions and process improvements to reduce administrative backlog and improve department efficiency.
- Support standardization and documentation of procurement and onboarding processes.
- Act as a subject matter resource for service buying and supplier onboarding best practices.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or supplier management.
- Experience purchasing services and managing supplier relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail with strong follow-through.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned processes.
- Experience with supplier onboarding, compliance documentation, or vendor master data management is strongly preferred.
