Job Summary
Clinton High School is seeking a dynamic, character-driven, and experienced Head Softball Coach to lead our softball program. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of the game, a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field, and the leadership skills necessary to foster a competitive, disciplined, and positive team culture.
The Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the program, including varsity, junior varsity, and youth development alignment, while strictly adhering to Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) guidelines.
Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership: Oversee the structural and tactical development of the entire softball program.

Player Development: Instill fundamental skills, advanced strategies, and physical conditioning while prioritizing student-athlete health, safety, and academic success.

Character & Culture: Cultivate a culture of sportsmanship, accountability, teamwork, and Red Tornado pride. Serve as a positive role model for students and the community.

Administration & Logistics: Manage scheduling (practices and games), inventory of equipment/uniforms, budget alignment, and travel logistics for away games.

Compliance: Ensure the program operates in strict compliance with Clinton Public Schools policies, Title IX regulations, and OSSAA rules.

Community & Communication: Maintain transparent, professional communication with parents, school administration, media, and the booster club. Promote the program positively within the Clinton community.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Certification: Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).

Experience: Prior coaching experience (Head Coach or Assistant level) at the high school or collegiate level is preferred. A proven track record of player development is a must.

Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent public relations and communication abilities, and a deep understanding of fastpitch (and/or slowpitch) softball mechanics and strategies.
