Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all materials received are checked for accuracy and are distributed timely and appropriately.
Responsibilities
- Receives all products, supplies and raw materials from delivery trucks.
- Verifies shipping information and labeling, quantity, and conditions of materials received.
- Distributes materials timely to respective areas within the plant.
- Loads and unloads trucks and moves materials to appropriate holding locations.
- Enters receiving data into system to ensure vendor payment.
- Documents returns from customers and enters data into system to release credits to the customer.
- Assists in shipping when needed by picking, packing, loading truck and UPS shipments.
- Assists customers when picking up orders to ensure proper customer satisfaction.
- Follows all federal, state and local regulations including DOT, OSHA, and FDA rules.
- Maintains detailed records and prepares communications, documents and reports as needed.
- Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors and the general public.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
- Responsible to report food safety, quality or food defense concerns to his/her supervisor or in their absence the QA Manager.
- Complies with all Safety, GMP’s and Food Safety Policies.
Qualifications
Shipping, receiving, and/or warehouse experience
Prior experience with UPS Shipping System preferred
Experience with shipping / receiving software systems and use of intranet and internet.
Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
Ability to read and write shipping documents and business correspondence.
High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
Ability to express self effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
Maintains a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Standing to perform job duties
- Ability to operate a tow motor safely and efficiently
- Work on shipping and receiving dock or in freezers
- Exposure to food products, packaging materials, above normal levels of noise, heat, humidity, and cold
Required
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Tow Motor License or ability to obtain one
- Driver's License
