Position Summary
This FULL-TIME Manager, Performance Audit position is located in Hanover, Maryland, and ranges from $45.75-$57.00 per hour depending on experience. This is a brand-new, people-leading role: the Manager oversees the day-to-day activities of a team of eight (seven auditors and one coordinator) and ensures audit scope and audit areas follow applicable guidelines for sampling, auditing, and reporting performance. The team is in a rebuilding phase, and this leader will bring accountability, oversight, and a positive, forward-moving energy to help build productivity back up. Additional job duties may be assigned as needed.
This position is HYBRID, and will go into the office 1-2 days a week.

- Manages the day-to-day activities of the performance audit team, including seven auditors and one coordinator.
- Directs and ensures that audit scope and audit areas follow applicable guidelines for sampling, auditing, and reporting performance.
- Implements applicable audit and reporting guidelines.
- Leads risk-based audit planning using data analytics and data mining outputs.
- Oversees audit inventory management and audit universe maintenance.
- Reports audit trends and performance metrics to governance committees.
- Partners with Compliance, SIU, Quality, and Data Mining functions.
- Leads the performance repair program; may direct and monitor performance guarantee implementation, processes, reporting, and performance improvement.
- Establishes and coordinates compliance plan activities within the Business Unit.
- Provides accountability and oversight for audit work that is detailed and time-intensive, setting clear expectations, tracking progress, and following up so work keeps moving.
- Rebuilds and sustains team productivity through positive coaching, recognition of wins, and clear goals.
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates the performance of associates.
- Encourages open communication, questions, and new ideas, and builds a team culture where learning and trying are welcome.
- Adapts quickly to changing priorities and guides the team through change.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve the efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Proven people-management experience, including leading a team through both productivity goals and audit work.
- Experience with risk-based audit planning and data analytics/data mining.

- Requires B.A. or B.S. degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a related area, including managerial experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
- Internal audit, public audit, quality assurance, and project management experience preferred.
- Any applicable certifications preferred.
- This role requires more stringent and frequent background checks and/or government clearances, segregation of duties principles, role-specific training, monitoring of daily job functions, and sensitive data handling instructions.
- Associates in this role must follow the specific policies, procedures, and guidelines stated by the Government Business Division in which they are employed.
