SUMMARY: Performs secretarial and administrative tasks to support assigned litigation attorneys and paralegals, with a high volume and quality work product.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Solid understanding of the litigation process (document setup - Civil Coversheet, Summons & Complaint, Corporate Disclosure Statement; prepare/file/serve Answer to Complaint; service via Process Server); proficiency in State/Federal/Appellate ECF sealed and public filings; court rules, local rules, calendaring; PacerPro workflow; manage discovery (drafting, formatting, proofreading, organizing, coordinating with clients/opposing counsel); trial prep documents (motions in limine, jury instructions) and logistics with travel; legal research (Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, CA Code of Civil Procedure, Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw); generate ToC/ToA via Best Authority (Blue Book/state citation); compile court filings, maintain iManage/Propel; convert/redact/OCR documents; manage attorney calendars; timekeeping; may include billing review.
QUALIFICATIONS: 3 years supporting litigation attorneys/paralegals in a law firm; patent litigation knowledge strongly preferred; independent e-Filing per federal/state court rules REQUIRED. Reports to Senior Manager, Legal Administrative Services.
