Athletic Trainer (ALT) - Hospital

Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Athletic Trainer (ALT) to join the Hospital team of a respected healthcare organization. This role is ideal for healthcare professionals looking to work in a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities/Job Requirements:
- Cover athletic events and after-school activities at contracted high school
- Prevent, evaluate, and manage/rehabilitate athletic injuries including collecting histories, performing physical evaluations, diagnosing injuries, and determining plan of action
- Communicate findings and treatment plans with athletes, parents, and coaches
- Assess and diagnose concussions, manage symptoms, supervise return to play progression, and determine safe return to activity
- Document all treatments and evaluations
- Observe and analyze root causes or potential causes of injuries to prevent future occurrences
- Provide occupational health and rehabilitation services including POETs, desk assessments, and FPNs
- Perform functional progress assessments, post-offer employment tests, and job specific conditioning programs
- Assist patients, employers, therapists, and physicians in determining safe return to work
- Coordinate schedules for event coverage
- Work as physician extender in orthopedic clinic including taking histories, scheduling surgeries, and educating patients
- Maintain current Athletic Trainer license and Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers certification
- Maintain valid driver's license and BLS certification
- Perform other related duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Active Athletic Trainer (ALT) license in good standing (state-specific)
- Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant Hospital experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
