Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Engineering Manager. Maintenance Technician must strive to maintain equipment in the production area and areas covered by the preventive maintenance program. Take preventive measures where possible to prevent downtime from equipment problems. Must be committed to producing quality work at all times. Responsible for safely setting up and removing molds in the injection molding machines. Readies the mold and machine for start-up. Maintains material systems and equipment in good working order at all times and maintains a clean and neat work area with safety in mind.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must use preventive maintenance program and complete the preventive maintenance work orders, at scheduled intervals.
- Perform unscheduled maintenance when needed, such as on robots, clean screws and barrels, fix hydraulic leaks and repair electrical wiring for machines and molds.
- Must be able to set up auxiliary equipment and repair, or modify these items to fit manufacturing needs, (i.e. thermolators, water manifolds, conveyors, dryers, etc).
- Perform general maintenance on molding machines.
- Assist in maintaining the facility and play and active role in plant-wide safety.
- Must have computer skills to use preventive maintenance program and complete the preventive maintenance work orders at scheduled intervals.
- Order parts for maintenance.
- Must be able to interact with vendor technical support.
- Properly set molds for start-ups.
- Must be able to use the forklift and obtain a valid forklift license through required training.
- Must perform daily checks on forklifts and complete required form.
- Must use lifting equipment such as a forklift or hoist.
- Must be able to troubleshoot automation equipment and components such as PLCs, sensors, drive, etc.
- Must follow all procedures and work instructions.
- Must maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform calibration of applicable manufacturing equipment, such as machines, thermolators, etc.
- Must follow current Good Manufacturing Practices at all times.
- Perform other duties as requested.

Education and Job Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Previous forklift experience required. Injection Molding Experience preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this Job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and is exposed to humid conditions and temperature extremes.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Manual dexterity required to operate equipment. The employee must occasionally climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Position requires the abilities to walk, sit, stand, lift and carry up to 60 pounds; ability to hear, understand and convey verbal communications of and to other personnel.
