Position Overview
The Value Stream Manager (VSM) is responsible for leading a cross-functional team to execute the Annual Operating Plan, with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, and Growth.
This individual will own the performance of their value stream, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure alignment with overall business objectives. This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role, focused on operational excellence and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Program Management
- Drive accountability for key performance indicators (KPIs) including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth
- Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events and lean practices
- Develop and mentor team members, building a high-performing and engaged workforce
- Own and execute continuous improvement roadmaps aligned with business goals
- Participate in budgeting and long-range planning activities
- Analyze performance data and present results to leadership and customers
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, standard work, and problem-solving frameworks
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience supporting operations in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality systems, and cost management
- Demonstrated leadership and team development experience
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
Preferred Experience
- Background in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Experience leading teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and tools
Work Environment
- Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment
- Exposure to machinery, noise, and varying conditions
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) and standard physical activity as needed
- Approximately 5% travel
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $115,247 – $151,026.60
