Journeyman Electrician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial and industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure that electrical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including high-voltage wiring, low-voltage systems, and industrial controls using schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Conduct electrical diagnostics to identify issues quickly and accurately, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to guide installation and maintenance activities.
• Follow all electrical safety procedures in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and local electrical codes to maintain a safe work environment.
• Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment such as multimeters to perform precise electrical work.
• Handle high-voltage electrical wiring projects safely on construction sites or renovation projects while adhering to strict safety standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades like frame carpentry or handyman services to coordinate work effectively.
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including incident reports and inspection logs.

Requirements

• Valid Journeyman Electrician license with proven experience in industrial and commercial electrical systems.
• Extensive knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and industrial electrician practices.
• Demonstrated experience working with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), high voltage wiring, and low voltage systems.
• Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
• Proficiency with electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters for troubleshooting complex issues.
• Hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical wiring in construction or renovation environments.
• Knowledge of electrical safety procedures to prevent accidents on the job site.
• Familiarity with local electrical codes and regulations governing construction site work.
• Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment safely and efficiently.
• Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects involving electrical systems installation or maintenance.
• Additional skills such as high voltage handling, blueprint reading proficiency, handyman experience, or frame carpentry are considered advantageous.
