Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including high-voltage wiring, low-voltage systems, and industrial controls using schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics to identify issues quickly and accurately, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to guide installation and maintenance activities.
- Follow all electrical safety procedures in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and local electrical codes to maintain a safe work environment.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment such as multimeters to perform precise electrical work.
- Handle high-voltage electrical wiring projects safely on construction sites or renovation projects while adhering to strict safety standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades like frame carpentry or handyman services to coordinate work effectively.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including incident reports and inspection logs.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license with proven experience in industrial and commercial electrical systems.
- Extensive knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and industrial electrician practices.
- Demonstrated experience working with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), high voltage wiring, and low voltage systems.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Proficiency with electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical wiring in construction or renovation environments.
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures to prevent accidents on the job site.
- Familiarity with local electrical codes and regulations governing construction site work.
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment safely and efficiently.
- Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects involving electrical systems installation or maintenance.
- Additional skills such as high voltage handling, blueprint reading proficiency, handyman experience, or frame carpentry are considered advantageous.
